Works as advertised, slightly less expensive than others but all were ofngood qualityThese are sturdy, well-made hangars at a great price.I purchased these Quality Hangers over a year ago. Quantity of 5 to be exact. I recently bought several items of clothing and decided to purchase a quantity of 25 this time around. I hope this alone can attest to the overall quality of these Quality Hangers. You won't find a plastic hanger in this household, only wooden hangers. I can't quite describe why exactly I prefer wooden hangers over plastic hangers. However, I prefer the solid structure of a wooden hanger over a plastic hanger that may bend. Plus, wooden hangers have a certain 'class' to them that seem elegant.I like these Quality Hangers for a couple of reasons in particular. The locking bar is the main reason. I have owned wooden hangers that have clips for pants. Clips seem great in theory, but can leave creases on pants. The locking bar solves this issue while keeping pants secure without compromising the appearance of the pants. The other reason is the chrome hook and chrome structure connecting the hanger to the locking bar. The chrome adds a nice touch of elegance that I was mentioning earlier. Now, these are Quality Hangers but not top quality. I may be wrong as I'm no wood expert, but these wooden hangers don't seem to be actual Mahogany wood. Instead it's a Mahogany "finish" meaning that the wood appears to have been dipped or painted to create that appearance. It is indeed correctly advertised in the description, though some of these hangers have better "finishes" than others. Besides that, some of these hangers may have cracks or imperfections. These cracks or imperfections do not compromise the integrity of the hanger itself, but more of a cosmetic flaw. I believe from a quality and value standpoint, these may fall a little short but this is the reasoning for the 4 stars I'm giving these Quality Hangers. Either a lower price or better quality is needed to justify 5 stars in my opinion. This review is for the Quality Hangers 10 Wooden Curved Hangers. I ordered these hangers in the 'Mahogany' color. The wood is very smooth with no visible defects. The metal hardware is chrome and is also very smooth. I also bought a pair of the suit hangers in addition to these. I saw that several reviewers commented that the wood bar for the slacks is too tight and I have to wonder if they're trying to use these hangers for suit pants or something more casual. Good suit pants - even those that are lined - should fit tightly because smooth materials of quality suits tend to slide off otherwise. Or maybe they received defective products. The hangers I received were very good quality.Hangers are nicely finished but being 6' 2" and weighing 210 pounds I wear larger clothes. I wish they were an inch or two wider for hanging slacks so I could place them closer to the seat so the legs don't hang so low. My older similar hangers are two inches wider which permit me to use two closet rods (an upper and a lower), or to have more usable closet floor space without pants legs hanging so low. I suppose years ago hanger makers weren't so chintzy with their wood.... another inch of wood each side can't cost much. The slightly wider hangers are also a better fit for my coats, especially heavy winter coats. My old wooden hangers are 19" wide, these are a puny 17" wide. Years ago better clothing stores included a nice wood hangar with the store name on it, and a nice box with a purchase... nowadays all you get with a $300 dollar suit is a plastic food store type bag. I must have a dozen very nice Sears hangers, and they used to carry your purchase out to your automobile... no wonder they are going out of business, No Customer Service. The hangers are strong, and the added wooden bar for pants is a nice touch. It will however put a nice little crease in the legs of the pants. the construction looks a little suspect, the wood looks pressure formed in places. It is as if small cracks in the wood have been filled with putty and a quick varnish or lacquer applied before it set. This is more of a cosmetic concern, the overall quality of the hanger is not affected, it simply is not the most aesthetically pleasing under close inspection. The longitudinal curvature of the hanger is appropriate for use with men's suits, and the hangers pair well with most any garment bag meant to be used with a hanger.I use these garment bags, and the hangers work very well with them: The hook pulled out almost immediately and it’s clear the metal doesn’t have enough bite to hang on to the wood. It was only losing a single suit coatGood looking. One problem was that 3 of 5 had the rod too long to open or close. The other 2 were just right. I had the mumber needed.I liked the quality of the product.
