As velvet hangers go, none of them are extremely sturdy. They just aren’t designed for heavy lifting. At least, not the ones I’ve come across. They're great for keeping clothes from sliding off and have notches for small straps. Perfect for dresses and uniquely styled sleeveless apparel. Also, they’re made to look good, sleek and classy and to give your closet an organized appearance (even if it isn’t so much:). Their thin design helps to cram more clothes on a rack while still keeping it neat.Anyway, these particular HOUSE DAY hangers are an excellent value at 50 under 20$ (at the time of my order). They are also the most durable ones I’ve used; those including some from an off-price department store and an Amazon brand set.I ordered they Gray and am happy that they’re not too light colored. The rose gold hardwear looks beautiful and matches the others I have. I didn’t inspect all 50, but only found small defects on about 5. Just small spots where the velvet rubbed off some, but 5 out of 50 isn’t bad! Altogether, looks very handsome. Also, the “Made in China” stamp is on the INSIDE of the hook. I don’t like when it’s printed on the outside; doesn’t look good next to the others, but that’s my own craziness.I am organizing our closet, so I ordered 50 for my clothes, meaning to move the 25 navy ones to my persons shirts. I did not realize that man had so many clothes! Ended up using most of the grays for his things and now I have to order another set for my clothes. I should just switch him some of my blush pink ones. I think blush and gray would alternate pretty nice, actually:).Overall, these HOUSE DAYs are a pretty solid brand of velvet hangers. Great value. For my next set I may order from a different Seller and will update this review with comparisons. Though I’m afraid maybe the gray of another brand won’t match these but I’ll go with it anyhow.Highly recommend these if you want to spruce up your closet or are sick of your clothes falling off other hangers. Or, just tired of looking at those random ugly plastic/store hangers.They arrived quickly and don’t have a funky smell like sone others. The velvet didn’t come off on my hands (also like some others) and they seem sturdy enough for sweaters, a mid weight hoodie or blouses. But not for a heavy jacket or think sweatshirt. I’d order again.A couple broken rest goodThe hangers arrived on time, but upon opening them, a few of them had the velvet scrapped up, and one broke as I hung a jacket on it. If I hadn't needed them for my boutique asap, I would have considered sending them back. A few out of the bunch were not worth it to me.Good set of non-slip hangers, but the hook doesn’t rotate. The hook can break if you’re rough with them, but hanging up normal items (shirts, hoodies, coats, etc.) hold up just fine.I got these in gray and was amazed at how much space I was able to regain in my closet - especially switching from wooden hangers. I transferred everything except my heavier sweaters and jackets to the new hangers. It's been a few weeks since I first started using them, and I managed to snap 4 of them just by pulling off t-shirts that have stuck to the velvet. I've since tried to be more careful, because despite how annoying the reduced sturdiness/durability it, the extra space and the non-slip texture of the velvet is worth it. I had a collection of non-slip hangers with grip strips to deal with all of my tops that wouldn't stay on conventional hangers, and I love LOVE that the velvet hangers are able to keep everything on - even if it sometimes needs a little extra care to get things off the hanger :)Still worth it - I wound up buying 3 packs to switch everything over, and I'm glad I did.Having all my hangers match and be of slim design, creates more room in closet. Clothes don’t slip offI specifically was looking to buy thin velvet hangers because they are my preferred storage. The velvet is slide-proof, allowing me to neatly store all my blouses (regardless of width of the collar) and the hangers are thin enough they don't seem to take up as much of my limited closet space. That said, I noticed that the ones from here are a bit more flimsy than others that I've bought (I think my other velvet hangers were from Walmart actually). When comparing the two hangers, although they looked the same, I noticed that these seem to bend a bit more, as though their core was made out of a stiff cardboard or something (the ones I got at Walmart were stiffer and felt slightly sturdier although they seem to be the same thickness). That said, I can't really complain given the price of 41 cents per hanger (I bought the 50 pack). None of the hangers have actually snapped or otherwise broken on me. Definitely gets the job done on a budget.
